Licensing

We have one project now that is uploaded under a license other than LGPL. Under certain circumstances, this will be allowed. Please contact me for further information.

Possible license change

I'm considering changing the license to make the terms of use of the templates more clear. The probably change would be to release the templates into the public domain. If I did this, I would give any of the current constributors the right to remove their documents from the library if they so chose. Please send any comments about this to contact@ooextras.org.

New Category

Due to the popularity of the various kinds of labels people have submitted, I've put them in their own section.

OOExtras reaches 102!

Today I finished emptying out my backlog and posted all the best files on the site. We now have 102 templates and sample files for your browsing pleasure.

New Layout!

Some of the pages were getting quite long, and it was taking too long for the thumbnails to load over a dialup connection. So I've split up the pages into tabs. You can still click on the last tab in each category to see all the files at one, however.

Added two new categories:

• French - For the growing number of French translations and documents
• Projects/Tutorials - This category is for documents that contain substantial content, such as a long tutorial document, or for projects containing macros or OOo related files that constitute a small application for extra feature for OOo. For example, the most recent addition is a document containing a macro implementation of Turtle Language along with detailed directions on how to use it.

I'm up to date on the backlog now. If you have sent in a submission in the past and you have not heard from me and it is not up on the site, please email the submission to me again.

Also, a new feature is that when a new item is added to the site, a "new" image will appear next to it for three days. That way, you can scan through and see all the new files that have been added.

• Simplified site. No more login names and passwords. Not more forums. No more stories. Just templates and sample document.
• It actually works. Now the links for downloading work much better.
• Easy to navigate. Now you don't have to dig down through piles of menus just to find the files.

I'm still restoring the author names/email addresses/descriptions for the submissions and creating the screen shots. Please be patient.
